Just another post

Well as I've decided what I am going to for Halloween I've also got my con schedule ready. This year since I have some from previous cons I can cut back on the constant making of costumes and only premier one per con, which means I am going to be working on other peoples costumes. I believe I'll have to do most of my finacee's (he's doing his own props tg) but I may also have to be doing my brothers. So looks like I'm not going to get a real break from the sewing machine.
On the upside I the plan is to hit about six cons, all starting with AnimeSTL which is in March and one a month till the big blow out of Otakon in Aug. I dunno if I will be able to attend the con in June though because a friend of mine is going to be married and of course its the same weekend.
I've also picked up a sorta part time job in writing for a cosplay magazine. I won't be paid but at the same time I will have some of my work out there which looks great on a resume. I'll post more on it as I know more.
Lets see as of right now here's how the costumes are looking:
Halloween- Nariko: still in need of a sword, fabric, leather and paint. But I already have paint for the fabric, wonderflex for the belt, and a pattern
AnimeSTL- Howl: since I was going to do this costume and ran out of time I have the supplies I just need to make the jacket and work on the wig and tweak a few little things
Mireille- I need to dye her shirt and make the skirt, polish the shoes I'm wearing and decide what wig looks best for her not to mention that now that I have some time before I'm going to be in it that I decided that I'm going to make her purse too so I have to do all of that
The rest of my costumes I may have little pieces here and there done but I still have the bulk of them to do. oh joy
As for the Akabane costume, its down to a hat and a trench (thankfully he already had a black tie and all).

Been awhile...

Yes Yes I know its been awhile since I last posted but I haven't had the time or energy to sit down and type. Well I have been typing just not any blogging. Lets see, I just got back from the Smoky Mountains for those of you who didn't know. Mark and I spent a week there, it was absolutely gorgeous and we had a great time. It was nice to go and see some of the attractions because when Mum and I were there last we either were hiking or looking for things to do indoors because of the rain. This time I got to go go-karting and actually walk around in Gatlinburg and see the shops not just drive by. I have a shit load of pictures uploaded into Facebook already and have at least another two or three albums worth on my hard drive yet. Here's one, another, and another. I'll post links when I get the rest resized and uploaded.
I'm not really liking Mum being home she's nit-picking cause she's mad at me. So I wish I remembered when she left for Hawaii, yea she's leaving for Hawaii and no I'm not going. She Grandma and one of Grandma's friends are going. Its a small cruise ship that island hops, I offered my camera but I don't think she's going to take me up on it. Oh well I suppose that means that I just need to go on my own and take my own pics.
I said that I have been typing, I've been working on my Yu-Yu Hakusho fan fic. Gotten a few pages done, its starting to take shape. I think that my original idea is going to have to be saved for another fic though. This just seems to be running in a different direction.
Here's a sample:

“And you must be Ms. Alexia Craig?” The dark haired American spun.

“Y-Yes.”

“Mr. Kuraza told me that Dr. Shijo had asked to speak with you alone. I was hoping I’d meet you before I got back to my office, I’m Mr. Takamiya with Student Affairs.”

“Oh. Hi.”

“Well this is your room key, you have a double, shared with,” he glanced down at his clipboard, “Ms. Anna de Fleur of France.” Alex mentally groaned. The two had arrived in Tokyo about the same time and had been shuttled to the University at the same time. She didn’t like her. She was too cute, too perky, too obsessed with her looks to be an archaeologist. This wasn’t Tomb Raider, it wasn’t Indiana Jones or Sahara. It wasn’t glamorous. It was dirty, it was usually in in-hospitable conditions, you slept in bug infested beds and drank dirty water, for Christ’s sake you got dirt under your fingernails! That’s why it was called fieldwork and not paperwork! How Anna had made the team Alex wasn’t sure. But she hoped that the girly-girl persona was just put on because if not she was going to be in for a rude awakening. “Room 308, your in dorm B” she took the keys. “The dining hall is open from seven in the morning to about eight on weeknights and seven on weekends. You’ll need this pass for meals, and this pass to get into class till your student ID is made.” He handed the laminated cards to her. “Lets see, student lounge is on the second floor, no overnight guests, no consumption of alcohol on school grounds -- sorry I know your over the age but we have some students that aren’t, lets see, dorm doors lock at nine you’ll need this key to get in after hours.” he handed a plastic card that reminded her of a hotel key. ”Here is the information on other student activities and such, my card is stapled to the front in case you have any questions. I handed the packet that had the campus map to Ms. de Fleur, but you’ve already been in the Archaeology Lab, we’ll do a tour tomorrow for anyone who wants it, otherwise any questions?”

“Parking?”

“Oh yes, that’s right you do have a vehicle pass.” He fished around in the stack of papers in his arms. “Here it is, for a motorcycle, preferred parking. On your campus map those parking lots are the ones in yellow.”

“Thank you.”

“If that’s all…”

“I believe so”

“Have a good night and welcome again!” he quickly started on down the hall. Alex adjusted the new load of papers in her arms and started up the sidewalk to her new abode.

I have decided what I'm going to be for Halloween. And this year it is *cue drum roll* Nariko from Heavenly Sword. For those of you unfamiliar with Heavenly Sword its a soon to be released (Sept. 12) PS3 game. Here's the official site and a couple of pics to give you the idea. The hard part for me is deciding if the detail on her "kimono" is purple or green. In the original concept art it looks purple in the nice promo pics it looks green but in the gameplay it looks purple again!

A long post

So today starts a long couple of weeks. Mark is now aboard his cruise ship and headed to Jamaica and I won’t really get to talk to him till he’s back. Doesn’t help that we live far enough apart that even when he’s home its not really feasible see each other during the week because he has to be up so early. I know I’m welcome to visit but I’m not going to be the cause of him being super tired or anything so looks like we’ll be seeing each other on the few three day weekends that he gets. He keeps apologizing for not being around, which is on my nerves. I know he feels bad about being “gone” but there is nothing that we can do to change it, and its not like it’s either of our faults. I can understand feeling bad about it because I kinda feel bad that my schedule is so fucked up that I have to all but beg for days off, so anything spontaneous is out of the question, but it’s not either of our faults so he has no reason to apologize, much less like five times every night.

Looks like the 16^th will be a very busy day for me. A friend of mine is getting married (btw does anyone know if we can bring guests?) as well as the Tool concert. Currently I’m redoing the dress I bought for the wedding. It has a white ribbon around the waist and I think I’m going to do red, it also had some tooling around the hem and well that had to go. She kinda told us impromptu, but whatever if she’s happy. Bachelorette party is this sat, we have no idea what to do for her cause some of the other girls aren’t old enough to drink so that puts some major limits on what sorts of trouble we can get into, not that those of us who are old enough can’t take her out later (and apparently I’m the person to take everyone, cause I have two 21^st b-day parties to do -_-“ I should start a service) See? This was from the last b-day I did. LJ was wasted before the night was over, and I left after number 19 when I got Katie to promise to get two more in her.

Course I had promised that I would do one shot with her, and since she likes fruity it was a Scooby Snack I bought for us. Malibu coconut rum, Midori melon liqueur, crème de bananas, pineapple juice, and whipped cream. I don’t recall ours having whipped cream but it was very good with or without.

Work was blah, it was slow, very slow to be exact. I think I did nothing of value all day. Which suited me fine cause I was tired, just didn’t want to drag myself out of bed, sleep was far more important. One of our managers found out that he will be moving to another store as of next week, he’s known for awhile that they were going to move him but they had never said where to, so Taryn and I decided that we needed to throw him a party, management is okay with that so I think Wed morning before she goes in we were going to go get decorations, along with decorations for sat. We have to come up with a couple of gag gifts so we’re racking our brains.

I think for my Harry Potter costumes I’m going to wear my blonde Howl wig. I never got around to cutting it so its still long, then if I get some grey contacts I will look like a female Malfoy. The idea dawned on me earlier and I was like meh why not? Otherwise it’ll be awhile before that wig sees any use, and a couple of people have told me that I make a pretty good blonde. That same weekend Taryn and I are supposed to go see Rocky Horror so I’ll probably be in my black wig so looks like I’m going to be everything but me in July.

As many of you know two of my cats had kittens. These are of the younger ones. Maybe fourteen days old, probably not that. They are soooo cute, and so tiny that they fit in the palm of my hand! I’m keeping the black one, or at least I plan on it. The others, well I’m hoping MB will take one, and the rest… dunno they disappear when they grow up anyway so…. The pics were taken with my phone so don’t gripe about the quality…

And since I’m on the photo kick, here is my cousin attempting to ether on a tire. Needless to say it was a complete and total failure and they ended up having to put a tube in it…
