Resurrection

Been a long time since I posted here, I used Today.com for awhile, and they did something that irked me so I opted to quit and return to a blog that I had always liked but not used as much as I should. Of course don’t expect monumental updates here, my Twitter feed will obviously change frequently, but my fan fiction and original fiction are where I tend to spend most of my time updating. When I’m not WarCrafting of course.

Speaking of WarCrack I’m not sure what to think of the new announcement of the Cataclysm expansion. I like the idea of changing the world, and flying mounts in Azaroth, but I don’t like them saying that they are going to change the starting areas. I want my low lvls to run though Darkshore the way they always have. It would be cool if my 80 went back there and the world was different for her, just leave it the same till you 60 or something. Something like how they did Icecrown and the Death Knight starting area. If you hadn’t done the quest to change something then it was one way to one player and a different to another. And how dare they even joke about changing the Barrens, the noobs won’t understand the Barrens Chat joke now. Poor things.

Normally this is when I would shamelessly promote one of my stories by giving you a teaser, but truth is, if I did that now then it wouldn’t make any real sense, so I’ll just shamelessly promote my own fiction. You can find my work at either Fictionpress or FanFiction and searching for the author Tzimisce. Please R&R if you can, I love opinions… and am still in desperate need of a beta. Anyone that is interested can contact me via either account I just listed or though my blog.

Just another post

Stress is definitely getting the better of me. I had two articles due for Costume Maker Magazine by the today and I barely got them in yesterday with an hour to spare. I wrote three articles for the upcoming issue (due out in Nov!) hopefully all will be used. I haven’t gotten an e-mail back from the girl I submit it to so the last two I submitted may have been nixed. The first I wrote was easy enough, the second was not much harder, but the last one I wrote was a real pain. And I’m not talking I hate the topic pain, it was a I don’t know where to go with it, its such a broad topic that I can’t hope to touch on all of it in one article but I can sum it all up in one sentence hard, if that makes any sense. Anyway, it’s done now, I’ll post as to what’s finally put in the magazine.

Yes people that is my playstaton right now. See I got this bright idea that I was going to paint my playstation red. Not just a dull red but a shiny metallic red. So I had the fiancée take the playstation apart so I could paint it, mind you I can only do one piece at a time cause I still want to be able to play. It still works in this form, it just looks really really really pathetic.

Lets see for Nariko I have this done so far:

Circlet- needs on small piece, then another coat of gold and sealent

Hairsticks- need lighter swirls painted on then done

Top- in pattern needs cut out, sewn, and painted

Skirt- in same condition as the top

Bloomers- still need to be found

Leg warmers- still need to be cut out, sewn, and painted

Tabi socks- in the same condition as the bloomers

Sandels- painted, need one more coat and sealent

Cape- needs fabric and to be made

Sword- probably won’t get done

Saw 3:10 to Yuma today. I enjoy westerns so I enjoyed this, most of the time I was watching the horses as the story isn’t really hard to keep up with. It was still enjoyable though, a definite change of pace from the constant action I’m used to seeing. Anyway, I have a book to write and one to read. ^_^

Just another post

Well as I've decided what I am going to for Halloween I've also got my con schedule ready. This year since I have some from previous cons I can cut back on the constant making of costumes and only premier one per con, which means I am going to be working on other peoples costumes. I believe I'll have to do most of my finacee's (he's doing his own props tg) but I may also have to be doing my brothers. So looks like I'm not going to get a real break from the sewing machine.
On the upside I the plan is to hit about six cons, all starting with AnimeSTL which is in March and one a month till the big blow out of Otakon in Aug. I dunno if I will be able to attend the con in June though because a friend of mine is going to be married and of course its the same weekend.
I've also picked up a sorta part time job in writing for a cosplay magazine. I won't be paid but at the same time I will have some of my work out there which looks great on a resume. I'll post more on it as I know more.
Lets see as of right now here's how the costumes are looking:
Halloween- Nariko: still in need of a sword, fabric, leather and paint. But I already have paint for the fabric, wonderflex for the belt, and a pattern
AnimeSTL- Howl: since I was going to do this costume and ran out of time I have the supplies I just need to make the jacket and work on the wig and tweak a few little things
Mireille- I need to dye her shirt and make the skirt, polish the shoes I'm wearing and decide what wig looks best for her not to mention that now that I have some time before I'm going to be in it that I decided that I'm going to make her purse too so I have to do all of that
The rest of my costumes I may have little pieces here and there done but I still have the bulk of them to do. oh joy
As for the Akabane costume, its down to a hat and a trench (thankfully he already had a black tie and all).
